Middletown Symphony
All
students must be a resident of the greater Middletown area
served by one of the following high schools: Middletown,
Monroe, Madison, Franklin, Edgewood, Middletown Christian, and
Fenwick. Students may attend a private high school, but
must reside in the area designated or be a member of the
Middletown Symphony or Middletown Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Students taking private lessons from an area teacher, or those
who are home-schooled and live in our area may also apply.
The scholarships for students in grades
10, 11, and 12 are:
1. The Helen G.
Ramsdell Scholarship is for students studying voice.
2.
The Reinartz Scholarship is for students
studying woodwinds, brass, and keyboard.
3.
The Leah Kay and Marnie Squire’s Piano Scholarship
is for students studying piano .
4.
The Wilkerson Scholarship is for students
studying string instruments.
5.
The Shirmeyer Scholarship is for students
studying cello or bassoon.

All auditions will be in Fellowship
Hall in The Presbyterian Church at 2910 Central Avenue,
Middletown. Parking is permitted on McGee Avenue, and you
need to enter the Church from McGee Avenue. There will be a
sign on the door to enter (far right door). You may also park
in the East lot and enter that door (playground equipment right
outside the door).
Enclosed are copies of the application
form. If you need additional copies of this application, you
may make your own, obtain them from Middletown Arts Center (130
N. Verity Pkwy.) or contact Carole Schul (422-9686) or
(267-4010).
For the scholarship auditions on February
17 and April 13, you are to bring three (3) copies of your music
for the judges to see during your audition.

have available a picture of yourself for the newspaper.
